Tortuguero National Park - by boat to Mawamba Lodge

Now we have reached the last destination of our journey. This is unprecedented: the last 40 km had to be covered by boat to reach the hotel. There are no cars and no roads in the national park. Everything happens by boat or on foot. There are also a few cargo bicycles available here. After both the luggage arrived safely by one boat and we by the other, we encountered an overwhelming abundance of plants and animals. Everything is presented in an incredible size and lushness, which can only be explained by the presence of very consistent, strong rainfall.
