From Barossa Valley to Kangaroo Island

To get to Kangaroo Island, we naturally had to take the ferry. Since there is only one crossing per day, we had to be on time. The trip was trouble-free; the ferry company recommended leaving four hours in advance, but Google Maps was correct with 2.5 hours.

At the harbor, there was strong wind, and the crossing was quite rough. The ferry will not operate tomorrow and the day after due to the wind. In one picture, you can see a swaying ferry that briefly made room for us to dock and then docked again.

Kangaroo Island makes a good impression on us. There is much nature to see and we have a lovely hotel right by the sea. After checking in, we walked along the coast towards an old fish cannery. It's a beautiful coastline, and of course, there are birds. Since it gets dark early, we didn't make it all the way to the end. After dinner, we might go for an evening walk to observe more animals. The hotel lends out large flashlights for that.

At the moment, there are heavy rains on the East Coast of Australia. Our route is not affected for now, but the flooding is close.
