Crossing to Agats, Day 3 at Sea

The weather was still dreadful today. We could have breakfast outside, but as soon as we finished, a heavy rain started that lasted the entire day.

Originally, we were supposed to travel tomorrow with the Seabourn Pursuit up a river to the town of Agats. However, too much sediment has built up in the river, making it unsafe for our ship to navigate despite its shallow draft. Therefore, we will take the Zodiacs through the jungle for an hour up a small river to a village called Per, which isn’t even on Google Maps. We expect to be greeted there by hostile villagers in their canoes. We fear them less than the weather. It will either rain like it is now, or the humidity will be around 90%. Either way, we are going to get thoroughly wet. Since our boat is built for Antarctica and the Arctic (Polar Class PC6), all cabins have drying cabinets for wet clothes. This will also be beneficial for us.

Nolly, our stewardess, has once again made a treat for Häsli and Mungg by crafting them a rowboat.
