Trip to Darwin, Day 2

The last day at sea with the Seabourn Pursuit. At the moment, we are traveling quite quickly because the ship will have to slow down later in Australian territorial waters, and we still need to adhere to the schedule.

We have also observed seabirds (boobies) hunting flying fish. Additionally, we attended two presentations in the morning, one about the first humans in this area and the other about crocodiles. We learned several things we didn’t know before. The first speaker is the daughter of an archaeologist couple who grew up on Easter Island among their parents' excavations. She then studied anthropology and ethnology. The second speaker was a veterinarian specialized in marine animals. All other so-called expedition team members are also specialized, ranging from biologists and ornithologists to marine scientists, geologists, and volcanologists. Some of them are quite well-known in their fields, have published work, and have participated in research missions.

Correspondingly, we are a bit sad that we will soon be leaving all these amazing people and the fantastic ship's crew.
