Sea breeze
We have quite a bit to catch up on! On October 20th, we switched hotels within Siem Reap and spent the evening exploring the new surroundings a bit. Even though it was just around...

For 5 days now, we have been island residents. And what can I say, life here runs slower, calmer. If I had to compare life here to someone, it would be Crush - yes, I mean the turtle from Finding Nemo (if you don't know what I'm talking about, you definitely need to watch the movie again!).
Just before our departure, we luckily read on some other blog that cash is necessary on the islands. So we stocked up properly and off we went by ferry to Koh Rong. White beaches, palm trees, and turquoise sea, basically the Caribbean of Asia.

Internet is a bit tricky, and it rains at 5 PM. Great. But otherwise, it's paradise. Our favorite mode of transportation, the TukTuk, is about 5 times more expensive here, but that's okay; we can reach most places on foot. On October 27th, we had booked a tour where we could visit some beaches, the mangrove forest, and a waterfall.

In the evening - it miraculously didn't rain - we enjoyed dinner on the beach with a fire show.
On the 28th, we took a short trip to Koh Touch, another small place on the island, because it seemed busier there, but we returned to the hotel relatively quickly.

And yesterday, we continued by boat to the next island - Koh Rong Sanloem.

We quickly realized that there was even less going on on this island and that we really had to force ourselves to just relax and do nothing. We arrived at a pier, our luggage was taken to the hotel by an even smaller boat, and we began the 20-minute walk along the beach to the hotel. No TukTuks, no roads. Just the beach. And then at the hotel, the surprise that our luggage had landed in another resort. Fortunately, we could quickly resolve it and shortly thereafter move into our room.

Before the rain, we had a very late lunch, and then we wanted to get ready for the much-anticipated evening with a fire show and quiz night. However, the weather had other plans, so we ended up playing cards in the hotel restaurant instead. And I'm not even going to mention our dance session in the hotel room...

Now we're lounging by the pool. Maybe we'll book some tour in the coming days. We'll see. Chillax dude 🤙🏼
