1st Stage Sines - Porto Covo

After a short breakfast at a café in front of the historic fortress tower in Sines, we set off today for the 1st stage heading south. From the fortress, we descended some steps down to the sea. The first 8km of the route were not particularly exciting, as we had to pass by the large industrial port of Sines, a hub for many goods in Portugal. But after that, starting at Praia de Sao Torpes, we were rewarded with fantastic views of the sea. We continued along sandy paths, always with a view of the sea, passing small enchanting coves, for 19km until we reached Porto Covo, our destination for today.
