Monday morning - we start early again (7:10 AM) and well-lubricated (including the ears - O-Ton Schischi), as another hot day with 33 degrees is forecasted.
Searching for the Camino arrow, we somehow start off and neglect to have a coffee in town.
We walk again, together with some other pilgrims, beautiful forest paths (including cows in a pasture)... but there is no bar in sight for miles.
Only at 9 AM, after we have already walked almost 8 km, do we come across a lovely bar and enjoy our breakfast (Café con leche, croissant, and fruit salad).
The route - it is very windy and not warm yet - runs along the highway for a fair distance, losing some of its charm with the car noise.
Today - our second-to-last stage - we want to take more breaks, take our time, and have lunch in a bar before we can check in at Hostal Galicia (a sister house of the one in Caldas de Reis) at 2 PM.
The last kilometers are a small torture for us every day (instead of the Baker's cyst, today my left foot is bothering me... etc.) and I recall my chemistry teacher's saying: The dose makes the poison (in our case, the kilometers) 😀
In a small bar at the entrance of Padron, we treat ourselves today to the complete menu del dia including wine and coffee.
Precisely at 2 PM, we ring the bell at Villa Galicia. I am not a fan of 'German punctuality' and apologize for it, but the receptionist is Swiss and prepared for it.
And there is joy in reunion: Fabian and Rita are also in this hotel.
And once again we have reached our daily goal: 28,744 Camino steps = 18 km walked.
We spend the afternoon by the pool 😀
