After a few problems with the blog in the forest, it eventually worked out. I hope you enjoy the pictures and the text about our experiences.
In the evening at the hiker's parking lot, we took care of wood supplies, you never know when the opportunity arises. And there was already plenty of branches and logs to choose from.
The night went well and restful, so we could leave around half past 10. In sunny weather, we passed the west coast with a view of the sea, drove through pretty Swedish villages with their typical colored houses and the surrounding forests until we reached the next parking space 3 hours and 220 km later. We are now at Skeda Strand on a motorhome parking lot built by a family on a former sports field. Here, you can either pay cash in an envelope or with PayPal (which we did) and you can choose your own spot. However, the owner still comes multiple times a day with his buggy and takes care of everything imaginable. Yesterday, for example, a toilet broke and today (on a Sunday!) he came with a completely new bowl and replaced it himself. Unthinkable in Germany, something like this would be broken for at least 3 weeks and cannot be used.
We spent the afternoon (or rather André did) testing and presenting all the purchases we made last year for our hobby of 'outdoor and motorhome travel'.
One of them is a windshield cover - for visibility and heat protection. Then there are the base plates for a storm-proof awning with ground screws suitable for any surface. No storm in sight, but if there is, nothing will fly away here! And we also have a mosquito repellent device from Thermacell (similar to the ones for the socket that used to work with blue tablets)... I have to say, we have had good experiences so far. It was also a frequently mentioned tip from all our outdoor types on YouTube. It must be good *hehe*
We both also tested the shower in the motorhome. We are parked only 2 meters away from the freshwater hose, so we can estimate the water consumption. And how it is in general. Conclusion: It's cramped, but cool, and you don't use as much water as you would think.
Of course, we also extended the rear supports that the car offers this year, so it doesn't shake as much at night anymore when someone turns in bed.
By the way, we sleep in separate beds, me in the back and André in the alcove. Not because we argued, but because we can :-D we have the space, it should and must be used. It's much more relaxing than the bruises we would get together in the tight space.
Right next to our chosen spot, there is a small fenced-in - I call it a nature reserve - where piles of stones have been built and many little mice scurry around. Watching them is a thousand times better than watching TV! With that, and with reading and playing cards, we enjoyed our relaxation time until it was time to grill in the evening. Delicious steaks and sausages with pasta salad in warm summer weather in Sweden - what could be better? I'll tell you: breakfast this morning. We boiled water for coffee on the grill, then we made scrambled eggs and toast, and I had porridge with fruit. Having breakfast in the fresh air is simply the best. NEVER happens at home. But everything is different on vacation. Always has been.
After all the routines like washing up, garbage disposal, and tidying up, we paid for another night because it's just too nice here. Sun, relaxing, letting your soul dangle... we'll continue tomorrow. But taking a walk was of course also on the agenda. We reached the beach of Lake Furen through a small forest with large boulders and over roots. The view of the water slows down everything in you - by the way, it's the same as with a campfire. You can sit there forever and forget about everything... fantastic!
Now we'll read or play cards for a bit, then grill again later, and tomorrow we'll move on to the next stage up north. Rain is forecasted. But only for a few hours. We don't care!
Stay tuned
