The starting signal for '7 in the Sand'!
Soon it will be time! The engines of our crossers are warming up, the fine desert sand is already crunching between our teeth (and we haven't even started yet!), and the horizon of the Tunisian Sahara is calling. Seven riders, seven machines, one goal: The adventure of our lives.
But before we plunge into the dunes, before the first gear is engaged and we leave the dust behind, there's one thing that is incredibly important to me – and I speak for the whole crew here.
A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to our organizer: Michel!
Honestly: Without Michel, this project wouldn't exist. Without him, we would probably still be comparing routes on Google Maps or arguing about the right tire choice. Michel not only tackled the logistical mammoth task of getting this trip off the ground, but he is the foundation on which our adventure stands.
What makes Michel so indispensable is not only his organizational talent but above all his experience. He knows the desert. He understands how to read sand dunes, how to handle unforeseen situations.
It is this experience that gives us the necessary confidence to undertake this venture. Knowing that there’s someone who knows the way and always knows what to do allows us to approach the start much more relaxed. Thank you, Michel, for giving us this trust and enabling us to live this dream.
And the song just played on the radio: 'Highway to the Danger Zone', (but please with a wink! 😉)
Anyone who knows Michel knows that this is, of course, meant to be a bit ironic. We are not seeking danger, but adventure – but with Michel by our side, even the 'Danger Zone' feels more like a well-secured adventure playground.
Michel, you are the engine that drives us. We are ready for the sand!
7 in the Sand – Let's ride!
