Day 45 Turku

(July 11) The anchorage was so beautiful that I found it hard to lift the anchor. Therefore, we left late.

The wind initially blew weakly and later moderately from the northeast. Due to the partially narrow waterways, we traveled the entire distance under engine power. Occasionally, we were able to raise the genoa for assistance, but unfortunately, this was rarely the case.

We wound our way through the beautiful archipelago of Turku. We squeezed through very narrow waterways and passages and passed two bridges that were just high enough.

Towards the end, we had to briefly leave the waterway to make way for a ferry from Stockholm.

After almost 9 hours and a smooth 40 nautical miles, we docked at the guest harbor in Turku.

With this, we have reached the southeasternmost destination of this trip. Tomorrow, I will explore the city, and on Monday, we will head back out into the archipelago.
This time heading west to the Åland Islands.
