A view from the window of the Nile, the mountains in the background, and hot air balloons rising. That's a great way to start the day.
From Luxor, we continued through the lock in Esna to Edfu.
According to legend, Horus fought one of his greatest battles against Seth in Edfu. In addition to the Temple of Hor-Behdeti, there are still remains of an ancient city, parts of which have also been excavated.
One thing you always realize is how small you are compared to these monumental buildings!
When you consider how impressive it all is already, you are absolutely overwhelmed when you imagine how colorful it must have looked back then.
However, one thing is clear, this is rightfully the Temple of Horus. The falcon god is truly omnipresent here.
Both inside and on the walls outside, you can find countless inscriptions.
When you approach the Most Holy Place, you stand in front of a shrine where a statue of the god used to be placed.
In front of it is a barque on which the statue was carried during the procession.
Back on the ship, it was simply a matter of relaxing for the rest of the day and reflecting on the impressions once again.
What better way to do this than on the sun deck, with a cool drink and this view?
After dinner, we had a visitor in the room. Luckily, he didn't bite any of us.
