Saturnia ☀️☀️⛅️☀️☀️

We are spending our last vacation days with Irene and Eckart. Initially, our refrigerator is being repaired at the campsite in Saturnia - hopefully! It cools so poorly on gas. Everything freezes with electricity. Something in between would be nice.

We visit the Cascate del Mulino, the sinter basins filled with warm water at 37.5 degrees. It looks amazing and is truly special. According to internet sources, the water is rainwater that is enriched underground and after - 40 years (one internet source) springs back up at a rate of 500 to 800 liters per second. The actual source is at the thermal bath, from there the water flows to the Cascate.

The next day we hike up the mountain to Saturnia, eat delicious food there, and have to manage the steep descent by the light of Irene's phone. Made it! For that, we get to enjoy delicious olio nuovo at the end

During the Mayla round, I explore the creek where the locals swim. Eckart and I go there too. And it's beautiful! Great water, no people, and the sun is shining. Just missing the roasted pigeons...

The Romans already knew where it was nice...

Tomorrow we are heading strictly back home. Another five weeks gone
