“You’re a patient now!”
…Said the lovely ward doctor. The whole diagnostic process started with her and she worked hard to get me appointments with professors everywhere. Now she is my attending doctor...

“Ms. A., it's starting!” completely taken by surprise, the nurse and the transporter both stood in the doorway. My hair was still wet from my last shower (I'm not allowed to wash my hair with Shaldon), but it went a little too quickly for me. I would have liked to know. Well then, of course I went to dialysis and won't let myself be pushed there in bed. When I got there, I laid back down in the procedure room and things started straight away. A very nice doctor explained everything to me again, covered me sterile and got started. In between, a well-known nephrologist and the senior doctor took a chance to check on me and make jokes at my expense. I was x-rayed and put on dialysis. Unfortunately, the catheter didn't work as expected, so I ended up lying flat in bed for 2.5 hours (nothing to do with reading or eating), otherwise the flow wasn't good. I hope things will be different tomorrow. Overall, everything went great, and there was probably some circulation and headaches. Back in the room I immediately had a new neighbor. Let's see, I already know the lady from our station. Tomorrow we'll take a blood sample and that will determine whether plasmapheresis or not. It would be nice, because when I've finished the 5 I can go back home.
