“Your breathing is so shallow!” she said after I winced because she was standing right next to my bed in the middle of the night.
Patients are checked on every two hours at night. And obviously I wasn't the type of snorer who just needs a quick look into the room to make sure everything is okay.
Overall, I slept better than expected; but not good for a long time. My neighbor had to sit on the toilet chair several times with clattering noises. A floor below us, someone was coughing their hearts out. And at 6 a.m. her pill alarm went off.
So day two starts quite early. Now I'm waiting to be asked to shuffle across the hallway to the scales with the other zombies wearing more than one slip.
And then it starts at some point.
