Trieste is beautiful, and you can also stay here for a long time.
For rainy days or to escape the heat (or other tourists), a visit to the Civico Museo Revoltella in Trieste is worthwhile. The museum was founded in 1872 and is named after its founder, Baron Pasquale Revoltella. He became wealthy as a merchant and was able to bequeath his palace, his fortune, and his art collection to the city of Trieste.
We began our visit at the top, meaning we took the elevator to the 5th floor and first went to the terrace there to enjoy the view over the city and the harbor.
After that, we naturally admired the art floor by floor as we went down. The lower two floors have still retained the style of the owner.
A visit is definitely worthwhile. We were almost alone in the wonderfully air-conditioned rooms. The entrance fee is 8 euros.
