Berlin, October 26, 2025

There are still a few days before the world premiere of Alizé, the new creation by Cirque du Soleil. The official premiere will not be celebrated until November 20, 2025. However, what we experienced and saw today already presented itself as a finished, perfect piece. Only later did we learn that after the ongoing previews, small changes in the program are indeed expected almost daily.

But honestly, what more could be improved? It was acrobatics at the highest level. I had the impression that the best circus and stage artists from around the world had gathered here. Right from the first minutes, you encounter a bicycle artist, dancers, and loads of magic.

As someone who is accustomed to many elaborately produced films and series with impressive visual effects, I was simply blown away by what was offered here.

Suddenly, doors materialize out of nowhere, a real tornado trunk sweeps across the stage, stars flicker on, and all of this happens live, right before the audience's eyes. This is called acrobatics + magic = Acromagic, or as Cirque du Soleil itself calls it, Magie Nouvelle.

Charming and delightful is also the magician, who in his lovable clumsiness somewhat reminds one of Mr. Bean. And time and again, seemingly dwarfs appear, dragging large boxes across the stage. So far, I have not deciphered their secret, but that is exactly what makes it enticing.

And then there is the exceptional acrobatics: on the see-saw, on the rope, on the trampoline. Alongside the feather-light dancers who do more than just dance; they practically float.

A program this amazing certainly deserves thunderous applause and standing ovations.

By the way, not only the cast but also the audience was international. In our show, there were many children, and they all, just like us adults, were utterly thrilled.

p.s. We have a little extra tip. Indeed, when we arrived, it was very cold, raining, and stormy. Since we were at Potsdamer Platz at least an hour early, we really had a hard time finding a place to warm up. Right next to the theater at Potsdamer Platz is the Berlin casino. Now, we had never been to such a casino, but we decided to give it a try.

This is really a tip, not meant to be taken too seriously, rather with a wink. For 2 euros entry, and upon showing an ID, you can get in and even receive two free drink vouchers for the bar, non-alcoholic, of course. In the meantime, we watched the players and the many, many machines, which gave us a bit of a Las Vegas feeling. Here, too, people play until time no longer matters, and indeed, at one table, an elderly gentleman won 25,000 euros right before our eyes at the slot machine.

We did not play but simply warmed up in a very nice atmosphere, enjoyed a lovely latte macchiato and another drink while having something to watch. So enjoy, if you want to replicate this little trick.
