2025 - April - Barcelona - Torre Glòries

If, like me, you prefer to be away from many tourists, you will love this tip. Barcelona, with its heavily crowded hotspots, still has corners that are less visited. Feel free to check out my other posts about Barcelona.

Today we're going to Torre Glòries, a skyscraper with an observation deck. The building is unmistakable in the city skyline due to its shape. It is round, cylindrical, and tapers to a point at the top - almost like a rocket. In the evening, it is additionally illuminated and appears particularly futuristic.

What we did not expect: We were almost alone there. Although it was in the middle of the week - that was probably exactly why it was so quiet. And the tower has more to offer than just the view.

Downstairs, there is a truly remarkable, immersive exhibition. Through an audio guide, we learned that the music and sound effects are computer-controlled and react to noises from the city. When things get busy in Barcelona, the music becomes more agitated. Also, current posts from users sharing about Barcelona keep appearing. It’s hard to describe – you have to experience it yourself.

A small highlight is also the exhibit featuring non-human residents made of paper. Beautifully done and lovingly staged.

And then the elevator goes up to the 30th floor. What a view! A true insider tip.

By the way: The tickets cost 21 Euros on site, but only 18 Euros online. So it's better to book in advance.
