The first adventure of the beginning of something is coming to an end
The return trip was exhausting and took about 11 hours. Especially around Hamburg and Bremen, there was constant traffic. Fortunately, most holidaymakers were heading in the...

First day... the taxi ride to the train station worked out. And since the previous train was 40 minutes late and then simply turned into the next train, I got away from Kleve quite well.
However, it soon became clear that the extra time was necessary. Switches, signals, other delayed trains that blocked us made the already long journey even longer.
Arriving about 45 minutes late in Düsseldorf, I moved to the platform. There, as I walked across the platform, I heard a strange noise and felt something – I had been pooped on by a bird. I even thought I heard a chirping noise, as if two pigeons were laughing to themselves. But they say it brings good luck.
On the train, there was a complete lack of attachments, so in the remaining sections, there were no more seats besides Bahn Bonus seats even in first class. So, I sat there hoping that a) no Bahn Bonus customer would come and/or b) no one would have the courage to throw me out of my seat. Everything went well. Nobody threw me out of my seat, and I was able to ride through to Frankfurt.
In Frankfurt, everything worked out well too – probably only because of the misfortune of luck at the Düsseldorf train station. I arrived rather early and could indulge my sociological research inclination by observing people. It’s incredible how many deposit bottles are thrown into the trash and how almost just as many bottle collectors pass regularly. I had no trouble getting my flight.
Now I am in
My first task after the renewed, sleepily endured security check at four in the morning, including drinking my remaining stock too quickly, was to go to the toilet.
If you can judge a country by its toilets in airports, then Sao Paulo definitely doesn’t maintain them well. Doors could not be locked in all free toilets, and the machine to clean the toilet seat was broken.
Now I am sitting in Terminal 3, where my international flight to Lima will depart. After having a hot chocolate at Starbucks – not even 4 euros for half a liter – I am just looking out at the world of the airport and the runway.
Probably I will need to do another toilet inspection thanks to Starbucks.
Until then from Lima...
