The beginning of something
The beginning... Packing the backpack

First day - journey to Lübeck... after I managed to leave almost as planned, I had nearly 500 km ahead of me. First, following the advertising suggestions, I stopped at Netto before heading towards Münster and Bremen to the Hanseatic city.
As soon as I crossed to the other side of the Rhine, it was clear to me that there was no turning back (Photo 1: Just before the last step into another world: the Golden Gate of the Lower Rhine). The Klever Saarländer is once again on the way to foreign lands to discover unknown worlds that no Dirk has seen before. My car's navigation indicated just under five hours of travel time, but when I checked Google Maps on my phone for reassurance, I was nearly in shock: travel time 7 hours 43 minutes...
After that, everything went smoothly until just before Bremen - a huge traffic jam, which forced me to call the campsite to delay my arrival time (Photo 2: Finally the end of the traffic jam). Fortunately, I had enough to snack on, and I also had a toilet and a bed with me. In the end, it took almost 6 hours.
The campsite on Schöneböckener Strasse in Leipzig was easy to find, but the campsite staff were somewhat uncooperative. She spoke as if she had swallowed a tape recorder, but when I asked where I could ride my bike a bit more, she seemed perplexed. Her response was three times: I only have this map that shows you the way into the city by bike. Despite my explanations, she stuck to this statement; even my question: where can I ride my bike on suitable paths for about 1 hour, did not change the playback of the cassette. Resigned, I followed her instructions: Please drive to parking space 41 (Photo 3: My camper incorrectly parked in parking space 40 - thus not following the rules. In the morning, I received an email stating that I was parked too far on parking space 40 and needed to rectify this).
After that, I quickly detached the bike, rearranged the car so I could set up the bed, and headed to the local shopping center. There, I found everything my Dirk's heart desired: muesli bars from DM and 0.5 l drinks for cycling. On the way back, I took a small detour through an industrial area to stretch my legs a bit and took a small hike through the neighboring district with the lovely name Buntekuh. This area is dominated by small garden settlements and social housing. As I marched along, I thought about how wonderful small patches of nature are right in the middle of our human concrete deserts. To conclude the evening: a quick brush of the teeth and a trip to the toilet, then it was time to turn on the light in the camper, read, and later sleep. Until tomorrow,,,
