Theresienhöhe

Today’s Wednesday outing took us to Theresienhöhe, a place we haven’t visited in a while. The weather is perfect for cycling, and my hyaluronic injection in the knee could spread well. Later, I have physiotherapy - we are getting old!

We parked our bikes at Bavariapark and continued on foot, first to Bavaria, where we checked out the progress on the setup for Wiesn. A long time ago, Michael and I used to go to the on-site construction canteen during our lunch breaks, but now the entire area is, of course, sealed off. Then we strolled through the park before arriving at our main destination, the Café Kuchentratsch.

This is a social bakery with a café where grandmas and grandpas work to avoid loneliness or going stale at home. I am not afraid of that for Michael and me right now, but I can very well imagine working there later. Me in the bakery and Michael delivering cakes and pastries! Or in controlling… ;-)

Surprisingly, many young people were working there, but also some seniors. The person who served us at the counter had probably just been trained. You need a bit of patience for that! The cakes were very delicious, and you can also sit outside or make yourself comfortable inside. Let’s see what our plans and ideas turn into!

Right next door is the Rischart headquarters. I saw that they also offer workshops, for example, marzipan modeling or bread and wine tasting. That might be something to consider!

Then we strolled through the residential area before hopping back on our bikes and riding home. Now I’m sitting on the balcony while Michael takes his midday nap. Work feels far away, and once again, we are so grateful to have our free Wednesday, even without a special program.
