Due to the predicted weather today (rain), I decided to first drive a few kilometers on the highway toward the west (because it was supposedly dry there), then head north into the interior and finally rest my weary head somewhere near Malaga.
The beginning went as planned; it rained. After about 100 km on the highway, it became dry, but the rain clouds lingered over the mountains, and everything north of me was pitch black. So I continued driving, hoping that this situation would eventually change.
But far from it; the rain showers returned! Every little curve of the highway heading north, away from the sea, brought rain again. It got to the point where near Malaga, two out of four lanes were completely flooded - standing water!
Therefore, during the next dry phase, I decided to turn my back on Andalusia and just keep driving, always along the coast.
In the end, I ended up in Cadiz, where the evening concluded with sunshine and pleasant temperatures. Thus, I also left the Mediterranean behind and arrived at the Atlantic.
By the way, the last picture goes to America (but nobody wants to go there anymore anyway 😅)
Portugal - here I come!
