For a few days, I am in Bristol for my company. On my day off, I can't resist exploring the city (after coming home every night from work, exhausted, and feeling guilty for not having seen anything).
The Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery captivates me for almost the entire day - everything that took half a dozen museums in London is condensed here into a wonderful building. Egyptian treasures, minerals, fossils, the best photos from the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2025', historical art, modern art, and performance (I watch in awe for a quarter of an hour as an artist places himself in various boxes, hangs, climbs, and sways...)...
My phone is already drained from all the photos, so I get a power bank from a vending machine - cool service! After browsing through the souvenir shop, I set out to find something to eat - lined up side by side are Korean street food, cafes, Chinese dim sum, sandwich shops, pizzerias,... how to even decide x.x My decision is made for me as I unintentionally stumble into a store for old books... And everything costs under 6 pounds! I feel like I take every book off the shelves, flipping through a ton of old craft and art books, and reluctantly buy only a few... And I notice on my way out that the store has another floor T.T
After more purchases, hunger strikes strong enough that I start my food search with more intent. The backpack is heavy and full, at least no more space for more souvenirs 😅
Once my hunger is satisfied (with the best ramen I've ever had), I wander through a park located on a hill to an old observation tower and enjoy the sunset.
