From Mühldorf am Inn to Salzburg
The tour is slowly coming to an end. The route was divided into two parts today. In the first part, there were several ups and downs until we descended into the Salzach Valley...

This morning we had a good breakfast in the panoramic restaurant on the 15th floor of our hotel in Salzburg before setting off from our base camp with only light luggage to our destination, Lake Königssee. The route initially followed the Salzach river again, so it was flat and unproblematic. After leaving the Salzach and returning to German territory, our fears were confirmed that the previous flooding may have caused some damage to the bike path. We faced the choice three times of either taking the main road or risking to ignore a barrier. We opted for the latter each time. Flooding itself was no longer a problem, but there were several landslide areas along the path that could only be overcome by pushing the bike on foot. At another point, the path was partially broken, but there was still enough space to pass safely. Lastly, we balanced on exposed sewage pipes, which was not as fun. At this point, we found an alternative route for the return trip. Finally, we arrived safely at Lake Königssee, where we enjoyed a white sausage snack. Then we headed back to Salzburg the same way. Unfortunately, this tour is now over. Tomorrow we will go home.
