Epilogue

Early in the morning we boarded the train home at Salzburg Central Station. However, we couldn't get bike spaces on the IC or ICE for this trip, just like on the journey to Norddeich Mole, so we had to rely on regional trains again. However, it would have been unrealistic to make the entire journey home this way. That would have meant changing trains at least five times and a total travel time of over 15 hours. We were glad that Dietrich's wife Barbara met us halfway by car, so we only had to use the train until Kitzingen. In the end, we arrived safely back home.
