First of all, let's talk about the weather. There's a lot coming our way in the next few days. At least today we should still stay dry. That was true for the first 25 km, then everything changed. The weather radar suddenly showed a pronounced rain front that was supposed to pass over us. Therefore, we spontaneously made a little detour to Detmold, where we found a dry spot under a large umbrella in the pedestrian zone. We waited here for about an hour and a half until we could be reasonably sure that the rain was over. After a little stop at Detmold Castle, we continued towards Externsteine. Here we got a small taste of what awaits us in the next few days, especially in the Rhön region, even though we were able to avoid pushing for the first time. After our lunch break at the Externsteine, we mostly went downhill and therefore quickly reached Paderborn. Here we stayed at the Liborianum, a Catholic educational institution, following a tip from a friend of Dietrich's. I think that was not a bad decision. The evening is supposed to stay dry, so hopefully we can enjoy it outside. There is a severe weather warning for tomorrow. Let's see what we'll do then.
