Arrived! This has been our longest journey so far: we traveled for 22 hours. Here it is warm and light until around 9 PM - just summer ;-)
Santiago de Chile is just as we remember: wide streets, great bike paths, and orderly traffic. Otherwise, Santiago is a typical big city.
That’s why we took the Flixbus to Valparaiso (= paradise valley) this morning, since Valparaiso is just 90 minutes away from Santiago.
Colorful houses, painted walls, winding alleys - it’s beautiful here. The perfect place to relax after our journey.
The Chilean food is very tasty. We had ceviche (raw fish cooked in lemon) and goat with chimichurri sauce today. It might sound weird, but it all tastes really, really good.
Valparaiso has a German community, which is why the beer garden 'Hotzenplotz' has also found its way here ;-)
Tomorrow afternoon we’ll be heading back to Santiago.
