Back in Germany

06/07/2025: After a restful night at Hotel Buckelhof and a rather decent breakfast, we set off to Obermaiselstein.

Rain was forecast, but it wasn't raining when we left. Still, we put on our rain pants just in case.

The tour led over the Hantenjoch. The Moped Club Austria was also making their way up. Everything up to 50cc was allowed, but they spent more time standing still than riding.

When we reached the highest point, we also put on our rain jackets, as the weather did not look promising.

It seems we did everything right because shortly after starting the descent into the valley, it poured heavily. We swayed more through the curves and bends, but caution is the mother of safety.

In the end, we arrived in Obermaiselstein around 2 PM, at the Pension Forelle. We last visited there in 2013, so 12 years ago. After a warm greeting from Carmen, who I truly would not have recognized, we settled into the beautifully renovated Room 20. We will feel comfortable here again.

Starting Monday, the weather is supposed to improve, and we will definitely head to Au to catch and eat a trout.
