Our Plans

I have been a motorcycle rider since the beginning, and my passion has never left me. I took a two-year break but realized that something very important was missing.

So, Petra and I decided to buy a touring motorcycle. When we purchased the Honda Goldwing GL 1500 SE, this Goldwing, built in 1998, already had 178,500 km on the clock but looked as if it had just rolled off the assembly line.

We both immediately fell in love with the Goldwing, which we named 'Ruby'.

Since my dear wife and I are retired as of January 1, 2025, we want to fulfill our plan for a long motorcycle trip.

No, we are not adventurers at our age, and no, we do not want to travel with a tent; we seek fixed accommodations and plan our trip carefully.

The planning began in October 2024, after I discarded the idea of just driving off and stopping wherever we liked to look for accommodations.

In total, we will be on the road for 5 weeks. We will stop at accommodations for only one overnight stay to spend several days in other places we have visited before and liked.

We will spend a lot of time traveling through beautiful Germany. We will ride through the Harz, the Bavarian Forest, the Allgäu, the Black Forest, the Eifel, and the Sauerland. Additionally, we will be traveling in Austria and Italy.
