Cycling tour to the Forêt de Bonifatu

We actually manage to get up just after six in the morning, pack up, and be on our way to Porto Vecchio by seven oh four. So we transition from Département 2B 'Haute-Corse' to 2A 'Corse-du-Sud'. There's not much more to say about that.
After a three-hour drive, which we take for the approximately 180 kilometers, we arrive at the campsite 'U Furu', located about 10 kilometers west of Porto Vecchio on a road in the mountains, situated in no man's land by a river, and we settle into a wonderfully spacious and shady spot.
The only downside is an abundance of small ants that can be found at every spot. We come to terms with the little creatures by spreading ant bait around our seating area in front of the bus and 'cleaning' the edges of the cooler and storage with mosquito spray. Outside of this boundary, it can happen that the foot is covered in ants within seconds if you step in the wrong place.
In the afternoon, we chill by the pool, and in the evening, we ride our bikes to Porto Vecchio for dinner. Porto Vecchio sounds like a port city, and it is, but the old town is located above the harbor within the old city/walls. Narrow, hot, and crowded, not so appealing.
As dusk falls, we let our E-bikes take us back to the campsite. We already got lost on the way here, and we can do it again, just differently.
A game of Scrabble is often our companion into the somewhat cooler night.
