This weekend, we explored 'Fyn' a bit. We (about 16 Erasmus people) drove together to Odense on Friday morning. Odense is a big city where the fairytale poet HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN was born and grew up. We visited the city and four different museums there. (The birthplace of H.C. Andersen; The H.C. Andersen Museum;..)
Many houses in Odense are still furnished as they used to be. Besides the museum, you could enter four of these houses - it was really worth seeing. In an upper floor of a house, we suddenly met a retired teacher who spontaneously invited us for pancakes. That's really the last thing I would expect in a museum :D
Half of our group went back to Haderslev in the evening, the others stayed overnight in Odense. In the evening, we had pizza (13€ for a small pizza) and a beer in an Irish pub.

In the morning, we spontaneously took the bus to the south to Faaborg. We went to a hotel and asked for the cheapest accommodation. The man in the hotel was soooo nice. He asked us how much we could pay, or how much we paid yesterday, and then let us sleep in a BEAUTIFUL attic apartment for 25€ per person. Although the apartment was actually only meant for four people, we slept eight people in it. With a sofa bed for two people and two extra beds, it was no problem at all.
After we dropped off our things in the apartment, we went hiking. In Faaborg, there are the famous Svanninge Hills, which we wanted to see. From the hotel, we walked 45 minutes to the actual starting point of the hiking route. Then we hiked through the hills, which are really beautiful and worth seeing if you like nature. (-:
After our hike (13km), we went to Aldi together and bought groceries for dinner. We had a small dining/living area in the apartment where we could cook great food, even though there was almost no tableware. We finally made potatoes with onions, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and cheese, and it was really delicious! Teresa bought licorice ice cream at the supermarket (it was already 4° outside :p), which we tasted after dinner. Then we played a few games. (Card games: Kems; 1-2-3; Game with things that everyone knows)
Then it was time for bed :-)

Teresa and Rebeca got a DELICIOUS breakfast from the bakery next door this morning. Generally, the food here in Denmark is sooo good !!!!
After breakfast, we took care of all financial matters and then went to the Faaborg Museum, which is also very nice. The paintings there are first of all very focused on everyday life and really beautifully painted.
After our museum visit, we went to the cafe next to our hotel (Hotel Faaborg) and treated ourselves to a hot chocolate. The cafe is so delightful!!!
Afterwards, we made our way back to Haderslev, where we arrived around 19:00.
It was really a great weekend! :-)
