Today our journey continues along the unfortunately snow-free coast towards Bronnosund. Before entering Bronnosund, our captain takes a detour to Torgatten so that we can admire the mountain with the hole up close. The mountain Torgatten has a hole in the middle that is about 35 meters high and around 160 meters long. It was probably formed by the sea erosion during the ongoing post-glacial rebound after the melting of the glaciers from the last Ice Age. In Bronnosund, we will attend a concert in the church. Bronnoy Church is very old; it was built around 1200. It burned down in a lightning strike in 1866 but was rebuilt in 1870 and recently restored. The interior is like a ship and reminds us that life is a journey. Baptism in the church symbolizes the beginning of life, and communion is a foretaste of the heavenly meal. Above the altar hangs a crucifix from the time of the Reformation. The church has two organs that presented us with a beautiful concert of Norwegian music.
