This morning we arrive in Honningsvåg, which means we leave the ship, take the bus to the North Cape, and then continue along the coast to Hammerfest.

The North Cape in beautiful weather, almost alone, enjoying a delightful breakfast with a view of the globe is truly a gift. The whole journey to the North Cape is already an experience. The coastal drive, with many reindeer along the road, and stunning nature is a dream.

In Hammerfest, we board our ship again, where we continue towards Øksfjord.

On the way north, Øksfjord is the first Hurtigruten stop in the province of Finnmark. At over 70˚ North, we are truly high up in the north. To the southeast, you can catch a glimpse of Norway's fifth largest glacier, Øksfjordjøkulen (1,204 meters above sea level). It is the only glacier on the Norwegian mainland that calves directly into the sea – a unique Arctic natural spectacle. The town of Øksfjord has 500 inhabitants and is the administrative center of the Loppa municipality. Fish processing plants and shipyards testify to the dependency on marine resources.

We continue towards Skjervøy to Tromsø, where we arrive at midnight. Tromsø with northern lights also upon arrival, a long-held wish comes true.
