After it has been pouring all night long, we set off early to the West Coast - it’s about 350 km through the mountains! The rain has stopped for now, and the view outside is stunning, as the road mostly winds through dense forest, as if someone had simply carved a path through it.
Flat White and Cappuccino are available in Paringa, a hidden café/restaurant with a salmon farm. We take a detour to the beach (Beach Rd Freedom Camping), a super beautiful spot with dark sand, incredible waves, driftwood as far as the eye can see, and no one around! The weather and the Tasman Sea are rough, so no swimming today!
Arrival in Kumara in pouring rain, but warmly welcomed at the Greenstone Yoga Retreat, where we immediately feel at home; everything is so lovingly designed, the garden, the outdoor kitchen, the rooms, the bathroom… perfect.
