Warm greetings from Basel!
I came here for a little day trip to pass some time.
The Town Hall of Basel is a very impressive building. It is entirely red and adorned with many paintings on the walls and ceilings. It was built in the 16th century and is still one of the most popular attractions in Basel.
Just before I arrived, several days of Carnival were celebrated. You could see signs of it everywhere, in every street, the smallest alley, or on the buildings. Confetti can really be persistent!
Basel is located directly on the Rhine, at the border with France and Germany.
The church seen in the upper picture is the Cathedral. Built in the 12th century, from there you get a good view over the Rhine and the other side of the city.
And then, I was on my way again. Continuing by train along the Swiss mountains. What a beautiful view!
