Abtrieb once differently

Yesterday everything was different... The weather was really nice the first day. Dressing warmly, it shouldn't be a problem. The day before, a group of 65 riders arrived who also wanted to ride with us from here on. This group was led by Haukur, the owner of Hvammi 2, from whom I have Askja - it was funny to meet him here with us. The Icelandic world is small. We then rode to the first meeting point and met the other 65 there. It was really cool to tölt together with so many riders. There was no consideration taken. There's no "oops, it's going slower", or "my horse doesn't want to tölt right now", or "I need to go", or "I can't anymore", there's only one thing - riding together. And with these horses, there certainly wasn't one that wouldn't have presented well on a turner in Germany. And they can tölt endlessly, you measure that here in kilometers, not meters. Absolutely incredible. Unfortunately, due to a high water level and too much snow, we couldn't ride to Bergafoss. This time, the horses from the mountains were gathered together not with horses but with snowmobiles. At the meeting place, there were certainly over 100 riders waiting for the free-roaming horses. We then went at full speed to the night meadow where the horses could graze until the next day. We then went home and went for a round in the hot tub. It was super fun and the sunset was breathtakingly beautiful. In the evening, there was the party here in the pub and you could experience again that the Icelanders go all out when celebrating. Dancing and drinking (or rather getting drunk) is just part of it here. The last ones left around 4 am this morning....
