Photos of the Christmas Lights 2022-2023 of Galera (Comarca de Huéscar, province of Granada, Andalusia, Spain, Europe); the Christmas lights were displayed from the date in December 2022 (coinciding with the t Wine Fair of Galera 2022) until January 6, 2023. The most interesting and spectacular events begin from December 21 or 24 (depending on the year), when, on the occasion of the Christmas Facade Contest under the slogan 'Galera, the magic of Christmas', Galera transforms into a true Christmas paradise in the middle of the Altiplano de Granada desert; every year around this time, a large number of homes and cave houses in the town, the vast majority belonging to Galera residents of English nationality or from other parts of Western and Central Europe (such as Germans), are decorated in such a bold manner and with such a Christmas spirit that they make Galera a real Christmas getaway for those who want to discover the true meaning of Christmas (for example, there are 'houses that sing carols', a magical tunnel, giant snowmen for the little ones, oversized Christmas nutcrackers that move, an almost exact replica of Santa Claus, an almost exact copy of Santa Claus's sleigh, a beautiful Christmas nativity scene at the door of the Hermitage of the Virgen de la Cabeza, another beautiful Christmas nativity scene in the Federico García Lorca Park (in the Paluzal neighborhood or Tres Caminos), etc.).
We, having only spent a week in Galera and much earlier than December 21, could only see half of the Christmas Lights of Galera, since, as I mentioned earlier, it is only from December 21 or 24 that the real festivities begin, the most awaited, with the traditional Christmas Facade Contest.
