Early in the morning, we land in Honolulu on Oahu, the third-largest island in Hawaii. First, a coffee, then we load a bus route overview with the airport's shaky WiFi. Conveniently, Line 20 starts at the airport and also goes to Waikiki, the tourist center of Honolulu. After 60 minutes and $3 each, we arrive at the hotel, drop off our luggage, and first explore the area. The beach is already bustling, a music group is playing Hawaiian music with dance and singing performances. Other tourists are exploring the city with hop-on/hop-off buses; we stroll along the beach and through the alleys. Palm trees adorned for Christmas, complete Christmas trees at 28°, back home it's just 2°. In the early afternoon, we can check into our room, and then we simply spend the time until early sunset at the beach.
