Awaroa

Unfortunately, we will only be able to stay in Awaroa for 2 days; it could easily be 2 weeks (at least with access to the workshop). Nearby, there are more holiday homes; the lodge, which is 800m away, has its own airstrip, and on Saturdays, helicopters land here, while other guests arrive via boat shuttle. Walking along the beach, kayaking, a bit of gardening, a bit of lounging, everything is very relaxed. The many bees buzzing in the blooming trees, sometimes you can hear a small boat in the distance, birds (Weka, flightless but good runners) are running across the meadow. It’s calm here. Time flies, and far too quickly we must think about our departure again. The barn is being cleaned up, and we will take the trash back with us. Just before low tide, we set off; in the bay, we have to wade through the water a little, but we make it back to the car.
