Moor and more
A hike 12,000 years back

Yesterday evening was filled with studying maps, planning routes, and analyzing weather forecasts, and it ended fruitlessly in a warm, cozy bed. In hopes of an inspiration, I drifted off to the land of dreams. I dreamed quite wildly, but no inspiration came. But it doesn't matter, my life consists of problem assessments and situational evaluations for a reason. And so I discarded all the bold but stressful, high-flying plans.
I align with Goethe:
Do you want to always wander further?
See, the good lies so near.
Just learn to seize happiness.
For happiness is always there.
(Goethe, 'Memory')
Years ago we were already in the Jura, on both sides of the border, primordial, nice people, stunning landscapes, pure nature - relaxation. That's what holidays are for. So I will probably stay in the Jura area and enjoy the spontaneous life in the border region.
Thus, I drive via La-Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle to Les Brenet. In summer it’s totally overcrowded, but now it’s very quiet here. At the campsite, I find a good spot. A kind-hearted, cheerful employee informs me about everything important, gives me the local Ghüdersack, and praises my French. Afterwards, there’s still time to stock up at the local store. There, too, I am received very nicely and they are quite charming about my French stammering.
There’s time for an initial exploration tour by bike. It takes me straight over the border to Villers-le-Lac. There I visit the baker and buy myself a proper piece of flan for the evening dessert. On the way back, I make a detour into the wild forests of the surrounding area.
Tomorrow I'm off on a nice bike tour to Le Locle and back. Let's see if it will be one or two nights here.
