The bike path from the Camping Les Berges du Canal passes by the lock staircase, allowing you to check out the water lift.
However, it turns out to be the rust bucket among the water structures. The preservation order is likely proud of the unchanged condition on site since its closure in 1999. Details can be found here.
In Ouveillan, we pass a property whose size can only be guessed at, as it is not easily visible. The 'entrance' reminds one of Tom Sharp's novel 'Klex in the Landscape'. The house at the gate, where the gardener lives, is a residence that could accommodate several employees. Larger than typical for Germany, neat, but not ostentatious. Only the tip of some turret peeks through the trees from the actual main house. The fence does not strictly meet high-security requirements, but the shed truly makes a mark.
