Canyonlands National Park

We spent almost two full days in Arches NP, so now we only have one day left for Canyonlands NP. We will spend that in the Island-in-the-Sky section.

The Canyonlands NP is an extensive area of canyons carved out by the Colorado River and its tributaries. It is particularly striking that the landscape drops over several steps, each several hundred meters deep, while individual towers rise back up to the original height of the plateau in between

We visit every accessible viewpoint and hike a double-digit number of kilometers, although there will also be a significant amount of cloud cover on that day.

After that, it’s already time to say goodbye to Moab. This time, we travel westward, through Capitol Reef NP towards Bryce Canyon.
