Arches National Park

After 9 days in the cool Wyoming - with temperatures often around +/-30°C - we embarked on a move of about 900km to the warmer south - in Moab, the temperature hovered around the 40° mark. Of course, that didn't hold us back, but we had certainly endured.

On Day 1, we spent the morning (when it’s not too hot, just 35°C) visiting the Delicate Arch, probably the most famous stone arch in Utah (5km, 200 meters elevation gain). Later in the day, we hiked the full Devils Garden Loop with all its detours - a very beautiful trail with some climbing sections, but also 12.5km and 350 meters of elevation gain. That's plenty for one day in these conditions.

On Day 2, we also spend the entire day in Arches NP - now we tackle all the arches we skipped yesterday and other rock formations. This adds up to over 10km, but the regular return to the cooler box in the car makes a big difference compared to yesterday.
