Glacier Point & Giant Sequoias – the largest trees in the world

We will spend the night at the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite in Fish Camp, just a few minutes from the southern entrance of the national park. After breakfast, we will set off early to the national park and drive to Glacier Point. We will arrive there at 9:00 AM, and it is still quiet with many parking spots available at the starting point. Especially on weekends during the peak season, the crowds have been enormous in recent years. Glacier Point offers an incredible panoramic view of Half Dome, North Dome, Yosemite Valley, Nevada and Vernal Falls, and Yosemite Falls. We will combine this with a lovely easy hike towards Sentinel Dome, from where there are equally impressive views.

Afterwards, we will drive back and park right behind the south entrance at Welcome Plaza, from where we will set off to the giant sequoia grove Mariposa Grove and do another short hike. There are several hundred mature Giant Sequoias (redwoods) there, which are among the largest trees in the world, with names like Grizzly Giant, California Tunnel Tree, and Fallen Monarch.
