Hello guys, girls
We left this morning at 7 and were super excited to see something new again.
Summary of Xi'an:
- much better than Beijing
- people there speak as little English as in Beijing (contrary to our expectations)
- Favorite highlights: Tang Paradise and Terracotta Army
- The hotel was great except for the cleanliness. The girl at the reception spoke good English and always helped us out (high five to you ππ½, but your voice was really too high)
Alright, at 7 we woke up an old man who was sleeping on a sofa next to the reception because we had to leave (train at 9- who sleeps next to the reception, seriously π€¦π½ββοΈ Well, he was lucky, he returned our deposit π€π½π).
After that, a 3-hour high-speed train ride π of just 700 km, piece of cakeπ€
In any case, we arrived safely in Chengdu, the city of pandas. More about that tomorrow π
Then we met our new friend Henry. Chill guy π¦πΏ, he just approached us.
He says we're crazy for coming to China- dude, anyone can go to the USA πππ (but we still want to go).
Anyway, he's a really cool dude, we exchanged numbers, and he gave us a few travel tips.
Nice that we met him.ππ½
In any case, the internet fooled us, we were supposed to have a subway station just 100 m away from our hotel.
Pfffffffff, fooled.
We walked a cool 1.5 km ππΌ
Oh well, whatever. The hotel made up for everything else.
LUXURIOUS place for us. This is absolutely amazing compared to the other hostels.
Super fancy rain shower, clean and big bed (hopefully we can finally sleep without back pain), we can eat here!!!!!!!!!!!βπ½ (ππ½Thank god, no more hunger )
Anyway, it's really cool here.
Afterwards, we briefly visited a Buddhist complex (really cool) and a Buddhist monastery. Real monks still live there.
As luck would have it, there was a prayer ceremony going on. And we were allowed to simply watch. Imagine that happening in Germany, people just coming in and staring during a church service. ππ
(the female monks? Well, the women who wear those robes all have shaved heads π) and they actually make offerings in front of the Buddha (One even left some M&M's- YOU're the best!!!! We feel you ππ½ππ½ππ½)
Okay, and then the shock, a Chinese street market.
We haven't seen anything so disgusting even in the shower in Beijing- DISGUSTING!!!!!
All the animals (except for the rabbit, it got to keep its fur on its feetπ) had their fur stripped off and then just laid dead on the dirty tables.
Every person there touched the meat and the eyes of the animals were still looking at you.
Honestly- it made us want to puke(sorry).
And people actually BUY THAT!!! why not just lick the ground..................
In shock, Jasna treated herself to a tracksuit (flipped the Nike logo and put a dot above it) - a bargain. Of course, it's original merchandiseππ the only thing missing is "wanna loose buyyyy???" πΉ
Now we're back at the hotel, enjoying the clean and warm showers, and we're going to have a nice dinner βοΈπ₯π₯
-Oh yeah, we had some delicious cake and a proper coffee for lunch
- and a PS to the idiot in the subway today who thought it would be a good idea to secretly video call us and show it to everyone - karma will get you - and then we'll film you. ππΌ
