Wellness tourism focuses on three lines with alternative and therapeutic treatments such as thalassotherapy, balneotherapy, and the development of spas or wellness centers that provide multiple benefits for the human body. Colombia has the opportunity to attract national and international tourists due to the increase in diseases such as stress, insomnia, back pain, obesity, but also due to the growing interest in healthy lifestyles.

To become a leading destination, the country has comparative advantages such as its two oceans, a wealth of continental waters, 310 thermal springs, 30 of which have high potential to become wellness centers, competitive costs, beautiful and exotic landscapes, and the friendliness of its inhabitants, as long as it improves its image, infrastructure, manages to position traditional and ancestral therapies as a product, and takes advantage of the flora and fauna for aesthetic and relaxation purposes while protecting the environment.
