Dalmatian's middle and following in the footsteps of Winnetou

Published: 19.05.2017

Wednesday, May 17, we went from Orebic to Jasenovo.

Yes, that's right, we're traveling back to the north. It's already halfway. It's crazy how fast time flies.

We are here between two permanent campers. Really funny people here, more on that later...

Yesterday, we visited the nearby city of Sibenik. A harbor town with a great old town. We dared to do the whole thing with a stroller and with enough muscle power, all the meters of altitude can be overcome... :)

We ended the city walk in the park in front of the church of the 'Holy Virgin outside the city walls' (that's really the name!) Here, there were dozens of turtles in a fountain, sunbathing, swimming, or jumping off the cliff (take a closer look at the photo :)))

Hannes watched pigeons and smiled at people until they finally noticed him and played with him...

In the evening there was a beautiful sunset.

Finally, a national park was on the agenda.

After breakfast we drove to the town of Skradin. From here, we went 4km into the national park by boat. The Krka is the longest river in Croatia and here you can see an ever-changing river landscape.

We walked along beautiful water pools that formed from the waterfalls, over bridges, wooden walkways, and paved paths.

A really nice day in the countryside with lots of animals (geckos, frogs, and snakes) and a breathtaking landscape.

Here, the remake of Winnetou was also filmed in several places. Unfortunately, we didn't recognize anything...

So now, two anecdotes to finish:

1. we had contact with Asians again, this time Japanese. They found Hannes so cute that one of them wanted to pick him up and then they took photos... Hannes suddenly didn't like it anymore, as if on cue, he started screaming - so the show was quickly over, luckily.

2. yes, our Bavarian permanent camper neighbors...

I have to mention that we sleep in the pop-up roof of our bus, so the walls are quite thin and, well, it was just an audio play.

Last night, half of the campsite (all permanent campers over 60 or maybe even 70) went to a wine tasting in the neighboring village. Since everyone has their own dinghy at the jetty, they went there by boat. They said that at least they could drive back drunk.

(I'm reminded of our last evening in St Ane in the cocktail bar - right, Jürgen? ;))

Anyway, everyone came back later and our neighbor was so drunk, a seasoned man with barrels instead of a six-pack, that he first fell on his nose. In front of everyone else. After that, he felt sick. Someone was already loudly talking about an accident and a hospital...

Then the big puking started (I'm sorry for my verbal expressions, but there's really no other way to describe it).

From the sound of it, only a man could puke...

Camper1 said, 'Oh god, he's puking blood!'

Wife of the one puking: 'Nonsense, that's red wine!'

Camper2: 'Oh no, now he's puking up the good red wine!'

I'm convinced that the entire 7000m² campsite heard it. And in the morning, everyone knew who it was because his nose was the biggest and shone the most beautifully in all colors... :)))
