Dino Fever in Friedrichshafen: An Honest Look into the "Kingdom of Dinosaurs"

Currently, the giants are on display in Friedrichshafen! We checked out the exhibition “Kingdom of Dinosaurs”. Anyone planning a trip to prehistoric times should read this report, as there are not only great effects but also a few things to know before buying tickets.

​Giants Within Reach

​The exhibition shines through its presentation: Many models are animated, which creates a real goosebumps experience. Especially the photo spots (like the jeep or the dinosaur mouth) and the three bouncy castles were fantastic for the kids.

​The “Parent Check”: Timing is Everything!

​Our most important advice: Be on time! We were there right at the opening and could enter without any waiting time. That was our lucky break because:

• ​Extreme Crowds: Until the announced feeding time, it was so crowded that we couldn't move forward – unfortunately, we saw nothing.
• ​Crazy Lines: When we left the hall, we could hardly believe our eyes: The line at the entrance was surely still 20 meters long and extended far outside the hall. Those who arrive late here need strong nerves.

​The Cost Trap (Plan for Small Change)

​For the already high entrance price, we found the exhibition a bit small. The additional costs inside were quite frustrating:

• ​Dino Riding: 2 euros per ride.
• ​Little Cars: 1 euro per ride.
• ​Food: The selection (hot dog/curry sausage) was expensive and limited. We preferred to go to the “Golden M” afterward – cheaper and stress-free!

​My Conclusion

​Is it worth it? If you have dino fans at home: Yes, because Axel, I, and the kids still had a great day despite everything. But: Be sure to arrive right at the opening, bring enough 1- and 2-euro coins, and plan to have lunch elsewhere!
