is one of the many construction companies, but it has an excellent reputation and the buses are very comfortable.</p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>The timing was perfect! We arrived at 1:00 PM, and we had decided not to book in advance this time, as the buses run almost hourly. In the next bus, there were even 2 desired seats available, so we were seated in a very comfortable double-decker long-distance bus to Ica just 30 minutes later.</p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>Around 9 PM, we reached Ica. Still in the bus, we arranged for an Uber for the remaining approximately 5 km to the oasis of Huacachina, and after another 20 minutes, having now traveled almost 14 hours in total, we finally arrived at the hostel.<br /></p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>However, there was great astonishment on both sides: although booked in advance, there was no reservation at the reception. A great mystery, then the resolution: for whatever reason, the booking was found - but with the year 2026!😳😆 And there were also no vacant rooms 😳😨</p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>So, I quickly looked for alternatives on booking.com

Just 500 meters away, there was another hostel directly in the oasis that had two rooms available. 🤪👍👍</p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>Then I handed a taxi driver who happened to be standing in front of the first hostel $5 and asked him to drive us this short distance (luggage!) - it worked!</p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>We arrived quickly at our booking through Booking.com 😂 - after clarifying the situation, we also got our rooms quite quickly.</p><p style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0)'>The rest of the evening is quickly told: luggage to the rooms, sought a place for dinner, walked briefly around the small lake, and ... For the next 4 days, we had set ourselves a quite ambitious and strenuous travel and sightseeing program:

The oasis of Huacachina, Nasca with its Nasca lines, all the way to San Pedro de Atacama in a large dry depression on the eastern edge of the Atacama Desert just before the Andes.

Unfortunately, there is neither a direct nor a quick connection from Cusco in Peru to Calama / San Pedro in Chile. So we first had to fly back to Lima.

At 7:30, the taxi was indeed in front of the accommodation. Even though it was ordered, we were never really sure if it would actually arrive😅. So off to Cusco's airport, 1.5 hours flight back to Lima, and from there immediately took an Uber for 45 minutes across Peru's capital Lima to the
