Hello everyone!

We start the day with the Tokaanu thermal Pools walk. The walk begins right next to the small thermal pool and is free to access. There are some mud pools and a few nice pools that were originally used for bathing. Those living in the area don't have to worry much about heating.

Next, we headed to the main hike of the day, the Tongariro River trail. It's a very beautiful river, perfect for trout fishing, and correspondingly, there were many anglers present. The track also offers several access points for anglers. Further upstream along the river is the National Trout Centre. Here you'll find everything related to fish and rivers. Definitely worth a visit for anglers and families. The river can occasionally be crossed by bridges. The Red Hut Bridge seemed quite in need of renovation to me 😅. As the weather steadily worsened, we picked up the pace a little. The views on the way back were also heavily restricted due to the foliage. We made it back before the rain and decided to watch a movie for a change.

To everyone wondering why we didn’t cross the volcano: there were always clouds, and you wouldn’t have seen anything. That’s the only reason!
