December 2, 2024 Philipsburg / Sint Maarten AIDA Bella Caribbean and Lesser Antilles Maho Beach After a few hours delay caused by missed container deliveries in La Romana, we arrive at the island of Sint Maarten.
Fortunately, we booked an excursion to Maho Beach through the cruise line. On my own, taking a taxi would have been too tricky. On the way back, we encountered the expected traffic jam during rush hour, so I could relax on the bus.
After our arrival, we first pass through the usual square in the Caribbean filled with shops and bars.
We reach the bus for the ride to the beach. One point of complaint is that there was no tour guide in the bus. This job was taken over by our bus driver.
After about 45 minutes of travel time, we reach Maho Beach.
At the Sunset Beach Bar, you can find the surfboard with the arrival times at the airport. Due to our delay, KLM has already landed.
The beach is really not beautiful. Here, only the take-offs and landings matter.
